Ellie, on stage.

A few weeks ago, Ellie’s elementary school gave a performance of “Go West!” She was so delighted that I was able to make the drive home from work in time to catch her performance—reports indicated there was much squealing when I pulled into our driveway.

It was a superb production—as good as any elementary school performance I’ve seen yet, the kids all had their lines down cold, and the recorders all seemed on key!

Ellie practiced so hard, she was right to be proud.

In your face!

I’m pretty sure this is the picture AJ wanted taken… I know this because in every shot he kept blowing the party favor straight at the camera lens. 🙂 This made the shot very difficult to catch, so I finally had to actually hold the end of it with one hand while I shot with the other.

For a while, I encouraged him to “smile with your eyes.” But that ended badly, resulting in an utterly manic look—which is appropriate, I suppose, but not quite what I was going for!

It came out just fine in the end. Enjoy!

Ellie’s already sad that her New Year’s Eve party favors have broken down and are unusable. We had to explain the economics of annual celebrations: the manufacturers *want* us to buy more for *all* the parties! \O/

Marginalized McDonald.

I took the kiddos to McD’s last night. They had a good time trying to get worn out in the playland. Meanwhile, I noticed that poor old Ronald was sequestered in the corner behind nylon mesh.

Poor guy. Happens to us all from time to time, though, I suppose.

Hydration Location.

Yet another detail from the structure where I park my car.

It seems like there is always a place where I find myself frequently passing through, or spending time, and its very plainness and blandness somehow challenges me to search for details to capture in an interesting light.

Apparently, at this point in my life (in Bellingham) the current model du jour is the Parkade across the street from Logos Bible Software.
